rebel princess and the future pharaoh pt. 16

Britt layed there by Atem thinking of everything, she could hear him asleep behind her while his arm was around her waist. She felt comfortable but she knew they needed to set planning their attack aside for a birthday…her cousin’s 16th Birthday was upon them as of tomorrow. She sighed knowing that sixteen was the marking of a girl becoming of age and something she knew Hathor would have a problem to deal with once they were done.

If grandfather finds out we’re close to finishing our rebellion then he’ll try to take the others away. I’ll have to seek help from Atem to get them free from any betrothals. Britt thought

She removed his hand from around her waist as she got up and went to get dressed in one of her royal dresses. She took a look through her dresses choosing a purple and red one that was two pieces. She liked that she could wear what she wanted now that her people knew she would be their future Queen. When she walked down she didn’t see very many people up and she could see it was still dark.  

Easier to surprise her if my sisters are still up so they can help me plan this for Hathor. She thought

Bre and Nana were still awake and seen their sister was out, they went over to her seeing that she was curious about something.

“so my dear sister, may I ask why you’re up this late?” Bre asked

Britt nod “yes, We’re gonna get the people here to help get things ready for Hathor’s coming of age.” Britt answered

Nana pouted “Hey! When is it my turn?!” Nana said

Britt sighed “not for awhile Nana, and when that day comes you will join me in my prince’s palace so you can be with the priest you seem to be eyeing a lot.” Britt said

Nana looked slightly away “I am not.” She lied but a slight blush was there on her cheeks. She did like Mahad and she was embarrassed that her sister could see that.

They recruited some people who liked Hathor, surprisingly Yugi even agreed to help out. As they planned everything Britt eventually went back to bed as she layed infront of the sleeping Atem. After she was adjusted in her bed his arm went around her waist again which she didn’t mind and went to sleep.

Morning came not long after everyone but Hathor rose not long after the sun. They didn’t bug her because Britt wanted everything perfect but that meant a lot was still to be done. Atem helped Britt with the final touches and Britt had called her grandfather’s royal baker to make some sweet treats. She specifically asked for some of Hathor’s favorites.

Hathor woke up and yawned she saw it was mid day already which seemed odd for her. She never slept this long but the others never let her either which made her wonder what was going on. When she walked downstairs she seen everyone was all crowded waiting for her. She walked to them and seen Britt walked to her first and hugged her.

“we’ll make a plan.” She whispered.

This little saying confused Hathor for a second but then she realized what that meant, the paper she’d found came to mind and she realized right then it was her birthday but this wasn’t just any birthday. It was her 16th birthday meaning a lot was going to happen. She knew now what that was meaning. She made the best of it though seeing all the effort Britt and the others put through it.  She ate some of the fire cakes but she noticed her cousin seemed to be distracted.

I wonder what’s on her mind. I know she said we needed to talk but she wouldn’t say that for no reason. Hathor thought

The celebrating continued but eventually Britt stepped out to go out on the balcony of their royal base training area. Hathor walked to find her and when she found her she walked up beside her seeing she was in deep thought.

“Something troubling you dear cousin?” Hathor asked

Britt shook her head no “just thinking, you’re of age. Once the war is over your path will start away from mine. All of your paths will lead you differently in so many different directions.” She said then sighed. Hathor knew too well Britt spoke the truth on that for their destinies were not so much tangled together but on separate paths. “Promise me when you marry someone, you bring him straight to me to judge. I won’t have grandfather choosing your husband because they have to pass my inspection first.” Britt said

Hathor smiled hearing her cousin’s words knowing she was only looking for the best for her. She didn’t want to tell her about Yugi though because it wasn’t something she felt her cousin really needed to know just that she was considering it. She looked down at the ground in thought for a few minutes before she looked back up.

“let’s finish this so we all can stop hiding.” Hathor said

Britt nod as she went back to the others, she dismissed the party and let them go to their chambers. Soon though the front doors opened and Jake walked through. Hathor walked out and when she seen Jake she had a fireball in her hand throwing it near Jake’s feet. She knew too well he was a traitor but she decided now to tell her cousin of his betrayl.

“He sided with the enemy!” Hathor yelled

Jake was shocked that she would say something like that so loudly. Britt had been shocked that Hathor had thrown the fireball but once she heard Hathor she knew why.

Jake betrayed us…he really does hate me for choosing Atem over him. Britt thought

Britt went straight up to Jake and she slapped him hard across the face.  Jake was stunned that she did that and put a hand on his cheek.

She doesn’t understand, I did this for her. Jake thought

Britt looked at him with cold eyes as she was getting angry her eyes started to glow blue. “I want you to get out of my base! Now!” Britt said

Zeek who was in his room heard her yell and wondered what was going on. When he walked out he saw the water in the area having ripples in it. He knew what that meant, even Atem was  noticing ripples in the nile water.

Britt He thought

Atem rushed out to see what was going on and that’s when he saw her getting angry at Jake. He rushed past Hathor and went to Britt’s side to calm her down. He didn’t want her to get consumed by her anger.
